Free Trade Agreement Consultation

As the UK looks ahead to the commencement of trade negotiations, DIT are inviting UK businesses and industry to work with the Government to help inform their approach to these negotiations.

Government is currently consulting on future free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations with the United States, Australia and New Zealand, and to potentially seek ascension to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).To inform the sector-specific policy positions and the engagement with these partner countries, these consultations are seeing views and ideas from leading businesses, investors and trade associations.

The consultations on potential FTA’s with the United States, Australia and New Zealand ask what you want the UK government to achieve through an FTA with these countries and to describe any priorities and concerns you may have.

The consultation on the UK potentially seeking accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) asks for your  views on the greatest benefit to the UK in joining the CTPP and to describe any benefits and concerns.

The online consultation portal will be live until 11.59pm 26 October 2018. Responses sent by email or post will be submitted to the online consultation portal on the companies behalf.
