Limited places available for interactive workshop on understanding customs special procedures

12 March 2021

UK businesses continue to face the challenges navigating through the new customs obligations to trade with the EU. In response, British Jewellery & Giftware International (BJGI) has partnered with Hooper & Co International Trade Consultancy to deliver a second interactive workshop.

The  workshop will start at 1.00pm on Monday 22nd March and aims to help business leaders understand more about the use of customs special procedures, and how these procedures can help maintain efficient trade with partners and businesses in the European Union.
Monday 22nd March 2021
1:00pm – 2:30pm (GMT)
This 90 minute interactive workshop will provide an overview about customs special procedures that enable you to suspend, pay less or no duty on goods you import or export. David Hooper, Managing Director at Hooper and Co International Trade Consultancy will deliver the workshop to our sector businesses looking to understand repairs/processing and other customs procedures. He will cover the topics as outlined below – discussing what they are and providing examples for each one. The workshop will be limited to 15 spaces, allowing businesses to interact with David and understand how the special procedures can be used for their business needs.
Topics covered include:
Outward processing
When you export goods outside the UK for processing or repair and then re-import them, you can use outward processing to reduce your duty payments.
Inward processing
You can use inward processing to delay or reduce import duties or VAT on goods that you process or repair.
Customs Warehouse
You can use custom warehousing to delay duty and VAT.
The ATA Carnet is an international Customs document which allows the temporary importation of commercial samples, professional equipment or goods going to either a trade fair or exhibition to countries which are part of the ATA Carnet system.
